Appointments

It is your responsibility to contact your school or program and arrange for your exam materials and proctoring instructions to be sent to the Testing Center. You should then call the Testing Center to confirm receipt of the test materials and schedule an appointment. Appointments are required for all tests and must be made at least 48 hours in advance of test administration. Please be advised that appointments are not confirmed until the ATC receives the test materials. The ATC will make every attempt to accommodate your scheduling needs; however, the final decision regarding the date and time of the exam is made by the ATC.

Rescheduling Appointments and Cancellations

Due to limited seating, your testing time is reserved for you. Please call the ATC as soon as you realize you will not be able to make your appointment. The ATC requires at least 24-hour notice for cancellations.

Testing for UCI Students who Reside Outside of Southern California

If you live outside of Southern California, we strongly recommend that you arrive on campus in time to take your placement tests before you attend Summer Orientation. During the summer, the ATC administers a full range of placement tests the day before each Summer Orientation.

If you live in the United States and need to take placement tests before you arrive on campus, our distance testing program is available. The ATC can help you arrange to take your placement tests at an approved testing site near your home. Please note that this program requires a significant amount of planning on your part and also has fees. Information about distance testing for freshmen is made available here mid-June.

International students who need to take placement tests should register online to take their desired exams at one of our regularly scheduled on-campus events (see the summer schedule starting mid-June). If you are unable to attend any of the summer testing events, please contact the ATC at testcenter@uci.edu.
