Learning Distance Program (LDP)
The ATC at the University of California, Irvine serves as a testing center to the general public. Individuals who are enrolled in a distance learning course, applying for certification or license renewal, or taking an aptitude test as part of a job application can use the center’s testing services for a moderate fee.
The ATC is a member of the Consortium of College Testing Centers (CCTC). The purpose of the CCTC is to make test administration services available to students at educational institutions away from their campuses.

Testing for UCI Students who Reside Outside of Southern California
If you live outside of Southern California, we strongly recommend that you arrive on campus in time to take your placement tests before you attend Summer Orientation. During the summer, the ATC administers a full range of placement tests the day before each Summer Orientation.
If you live in the United States and need to take placement tests before you arrive on campus, our distance testing program is available. The ATC can help you arrange to take your placement tests at an approved testing site near your home. Please note that this program requires a significant amount of planning on your part and also has fees. Information about distance testing for freshmen is made available here mid-June.
International students who need to take placement tests should register online to take their desired exams at one of our regularly scheduled on-campus events (see the summer schedule starting mid-June). If you are unable to attend any of the summer testing events, please contact the ATC at email@example.com.
